Mystery Meat...
Wednesday, February 28th, 2007 07:13 pmI was just going through some pictures on my desktop and I found this from 01-02-2007. Matt & I were supposed to have tacos that night. In fact, it was still Christmas Break! :

I hate expired food - there's nothing worse than going to the store to buy something, only to get home later to notice the expiration date has passed. The date on this particular meat had not yet expired, but something didn't look appealing about the texture and such. I'm not sure if it's visible in the pic, but I remember part of the meat had a nice red color, while other parts were the typical brownish color you would normally see when meat was about to expire, or was already expired...
Anyhow.. bigger pic behind the cut:
( clicky clicky... )

Expired!!!!!!
Saturday, February 17th, 2007 12:05 pmLast night I went to a party store that I've never been to before. I picked up some things, and then on an impulse buy I decided to get Matt & I some Mocha Frappuccinos... I also picked up a box of Dots because I have a soft spot for them and felt like I deserved another treat.
A little while later I decided to open up my box of Dots. Immediately I knew something was wrong because they were not soft. In fact, they were so hard that I didn't dare eat them in fear of breaking my teeth... I slammed one of the Dots on the counter and it sounded like a penny. I jokingly told Matt that I wouldn't be surprised if the Frappuccinos were also expired.
I was right:

( one more behind the cut.... )

Picture Post!
Saturday, January 27th, 2007 09:17 pmBack in December I got a new fish... this one is a Socolofi Cichlid. I used to have this type of fish when I lived in the apartment - it didn't survive for very long after the move.

For a size comparison, here's my Demasoni in the same spot:

Catfish Update...
Friday, December 29th, 2006 05:35 pmI called the fishtank cleaning guy and scheduled a visit for Tuesday... he's also going to take the catfish out of the tank. :-(
I'll hate to see the big guy go, but it's probably for the best... hopefully the pet store will put him in a nice big tank (75+ gallons) so the fish will have some room to move around until he's sold or dies. Since I have such little time left to take pictures and such, I think I'm going to position the camera/tripod in front of the tank so I can get some video of it feeding/swimming.

Plants to buy for the garden...
Sunday, April 2nd, 2006 12:02 pmI've been doing a little bit of internet surfing this morning for information on what I would like to plant/replace in my garden this season.

Mums from 2005 - I wonder how many flowers will bloom this fall..
My searches brought me to a few sites where I found some plants I like:
A plant I would like see in the backyard is a butterfly bush. It's supposed to attract butterflies and hummingbirds which may provide some entertainment for kitty.
I think I have one of these (Euonymous fortunei - Gaiety Euonymous) in my backyard - I like the colors of the leaves. Now that I know what the plant is called I may consider getting one for the front to replace a bush.
